Youth singing

Austrian Young Singing is a national and federal competition that takes place every three years (since 1948). About 40,000 singers between the ages of 6 and 18 take part. About 2000 children fight for a place in the final, the latest one being in June 2010 in Salzburg. Out of the 79 choirs taking part, 24 were from lower secondary education, of which 12 were from schools with music specialism.
